Gor Mahia coach hails Mugiraneza after league opener victory
Gor Mahia head coach Jose Fereira Marcelo is impressed with the performances of Amavubi midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi and Kenneth Muguna against Kariobangi Sharks.
The two arrived at K’Ogalo during the December-January transfer window and played a major role in the opener helping Gor Mahia to overshadow Sharks in the midfield.
Rwandan international in new signing Jean Baptiste Mugireneza and striker Jacques Tuyisenge were on target as Haruna Shakava sealed a 3-1 win in their opening Kenyan Premier League match against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday 12 March 2017 at the Thika Municipal Stadium.
Brazilian coach Ze Maria believes that the two have strong and good quality which always matters in matches.
“When you have players like them (Muguna and Migi) with strong personality and good quality they have to make the difference in the field. They did it against Sharks. I am happy for them, am also happy with the rest of the squad and how they performed, he said.
System and selection
The coach used the 3-5-2 system for the second time in a row and he believes he can use different systems because of the quality available in his squad. Ze Maria also has many options when it comes to midfield selection and he says he loves that. He feels players will always give their best whenever handed a chance and competition for positions will be high.
“I have players with a lot quality so we can play like today 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1. So I have many solutions this year because of the quality. Every coach wants the difficult when it comes to selecting players. I happy because players who will be handed playing time will have to give 100%, he added.
