Rwanda women’s league winds up on Saturday; AS Kigali WFC to be crowned champions

The 2017 Rwanda Women’s first division league comes to a climax on Saturday with champions AS Kigali WFC taking on ES Mutunda WFC in the final encounter of the season at Stade de Kigali at 15:00.

The AS Kigali WFC home tie against ES Mutunda WFC is a game in hand which was supposed to be played last month before was postponed following both teams‘ players engagement in the regional inter-schools tournament which was staged in Uganda.

AS Kigali WFc goes into the final tie with a clean sheet having won all their 13 league encounters, scoring 78 goals, conceding only four goals to amass 39 points.

ES Mutunda WFC are placed second on the league standings with 29 points following their 9 wins, two draws and two losses.

The Kigali City sponsored women side will be eying to climax the season with a clean sheet before they are crowned nine-time league champions at the end of the day.

Other teams concluded their final season matches last week with Kamonyi WFC winding up the season in third spot with 27 points; Rambura WFC in fourth slot with 22 points; Inyemera WFC are ranked fifth with 17 points; Bugesera WFC are sixth with 13 points while Gakenke WFC and Nyagatare WFC are placed seventh and eighth with six and dour points respectively.
