Rayon Sports who departed for Algiers on Thursday, heads into Sunday’s clash sitting in third spot with two points of the group standings which are topped by USM Alger after accumulating seven points in their first three matches.

The Algerian side, who reached the semi-finals of the 2002 CAF Cup Winners Cup, thumped Tanzania side Young Africans 4-0 in their first Group D game at home, before drawing 0-0 with Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia away and defeated Rayon Sports 2-1 last week in Kigali.

Meanwhile, Rayon are placed third on the group standings having accumulated two points from two matches.

Kenyan side, Gor Mahia who will be away to Tanzania’s Young Africans have five points in three matches played so far.

The Blues lost their first leg match against USM Alger 2-1 last week and will be hoping to secure their first group stage away in Algeria, a mission that seems impossible following the absence of six of their key players namely; Kevin Muhire and Mutsinzi Ange Jimmy who are suspended due to accumulated yellow cards and skipper Kwizera Pierro and center back Faustin Usengimana who are focused on securing professional deals with clubs yet to be known, Rutanga Eric and Niyonzima Olivier are nursing Hamstring strain and Quadriceps strain 2nd degree respectively.
