ARPL: Play-off ties begin on Sept. 25, Miroplast Fc withdraws

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has released fixtures of the play-off ties, whose winner will replace Intare Fc in the 2018/19 Azam Rwanda Premier League.

The drawing of lots was held on Friday following confirmation of Sorwathe FC, Pepiniere FC and Gicumbi FC to participate in the matches. Miroplast FC withdrew citing lack of interest to take part in the contest.

Action begins on September 25 with Sorwathe FC hosting Pepiniere FC at Stade de Kigali.

Two days later, Gicumbi Fc will host Sorwathe FC at Stade de Kigali before Pepiniere Fc takes on Gicumbi Fc in the final match of the Play-off action on September 29 at Stade de Kigali.

The winning with the highest number of points will be declared the ultimate winner, earning automatic promotion to the 2018/19 Azam Rwanda Premier League, replacing Intare Fc who announced their withdrawal from Azam Rwanda Premier League last month.

As part of the regulations of these play-offs, each team is allowed to a maximum five substitutes, and to determine the winning team, FERWAFA will consider total points garnered by each team.

If there is a tie in points among the three teams, goal difference (GD), Goal for (GF) and Fair play rule will be applicable to determine the winner.

In case two teams tie on points, the following will be followed to determine the winner: head to head between the concerned teams, goal difference (GD), Goal for (GF) and Fair play rule.

Each club will field their legible licenced players who took part in the 2017/18 Azam Rwanda Premier League season.
