FERWAFA Referees Course gets underway on Thursday

Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) is set to engage national referees in a three-day Referees Course ahead of the start of the 2018/19 Azam Rwanda Premier League season.

The FERWAFA Referees Course starts on Thursday and will climax on Saturday at FERWAFA headquarters in Remera, Kigali City.

The course will be attended by 43 referees who will handle first division matches in the upcoming season. International referees are not among participants because they took part in the FIFA MA Referees Course held in Kigali in late July this year.

The referees will be undergoing a practice session at Amahoro stadium every morning from 7:30am before going for theoretical lessons at FERWAFA in the afternoon from 14h00.

The theory session will be covering tactical foul, handball, positioning and match management, penalty area incidents, offside, challenges and evaluation

The course will be facilitated by instructors led by the Executive Committee member in charge of referees Gasingwa Michel, alongside other trio technical instructors Munyangoga Appolinaire, Sekamana Abdoulkhaliq and Kamanzi Emery who also doubles as the Head of Referees Department in FERWAFA.

The physical instructors include Hategikimana Corneille and Mwambali Serge.
