FIFA DTMS Workshop underway in Kigali City

Posted on Nov 06 2019

The World Football body, FIFA is holding a two-day Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS) training workshop to 28 representatives from first and second divisions clubs at Hill Top Hotel in Kigali City.

The FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) experts namely Anabel Belzunce, the senior Training and Support Coordinator of the FIFA TMS Global Transfers and Compliance and Maria Luz Giordano, the senior legal counsel/TMS Compliance, are conducting the two-day course.

Opening the workshop, the FERWAFA Secretary General UWAYEZU F.Régis urged the club representatives to adhere skills that will be acquired from this workshop to help in attaining FERWAFA’s vision of being the best footballing country on the continent.

‘It is an honor for us to have FIFA training TMS users trained about DTMS functions and operations as we are looking forward to implement it as the solution to our usual transfer activities which is marred with a lot of disputes between clubs as well as lack of transparency,’

‘As FERWAFA, we also want to digitalize our football operations in order to ease transfer and player registration process,’ added Uwayezu.

The goal for the Transfer Matching System (TMS) is to simplify the process of player transfers, improve transparency and the flow of information concerning player transfers as well as ensuring credibility in the entire transfer exercise.

The DTMS is a reduced version of the globally used International Transfer Matching System (ITMS), which helps clubs easily manage international and local transfers of both male and female players, as well as generating transfer activity reports from several quarters.

The system is useful is enhancing transparency in the football business as well as ensuring that all deals are tracked from start to finish.

The system will be effected in the July 2020 transfer window ahead of the 2020-2021 season kickoff.
