Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has unveiled a post Covid-19 recovery plan dubbed as FERWAFA Bounce Back Programme. The Programme was launched virtually on Friday, August 14, 2020.

The Bounce Back Programme was established by FERWAFA in partnership with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) through its Assist initiative.

Habyarimana said, ’’I want to extend my gratitude to the UEFA team for being with us from the conceptualization of the program until now. We believe that this program will help us to successfully resume our football competitions in the new football norm that we must adapt going forward,”

On behalf of UEFA, Stewart Regan acknowledged the efforts of FERWAFA in implementing the Bounce Back Action Plan, and emphasized UEFA’s support to work hand in hand with the federation in order to make the project a success.

The FERWAFA Bounce Back Manager Bonnie Mugabe highlighted the key areas of focus, which comprise the action plan that will be based on to ensure a successful return to competitions. The main pillars include Technical Football Development, Governance and Football Administration, Commercial Matters as well as League and Clubs development.

The 3-6 months FERWAFA Bounce Back action plan determines activities that need to be carried out in each pillar whereby responsible FERWAFA departments are tasked with the execution of the respective action points that need to be executed within a stipulated time frame to ensure a successful completion of activities

The FERWAFA Secretary General François Régis Uwayezu also lauded the partnership of UEFA and acknowledged that FERWAFA has already started the implementation of the program. He said, "We have started implementing the action plan and we want to work as a force to make the project happen while maintaining health guidelines put in place by the Rwandan Government. As soon as we have clearance to resume football activities, we will hit the ground running."

The FERWAFA Bounce Back Programme will be instrumental in helping FERWAFA and its stakeholders to effectively prepare for a successful resumption of football competitions amid Covid-19 Pandemic.
