TOTAL CHAN 2020: Rwanda and Uganda share spoils.

The ‘’Amavubi Stars’’ of Rwanda and Uganda Cranes played out a goalless draw in their first match of the African Nations Championship.

Rwanda started the game in a positive way piling pressure on the cranes with skipper Tuyisenge Jacques and talisman Muhadjir Hakizimana denied by the goal posts in the first half. The latter produced a skill of magic to eliminate three cranes players before firing on the crossbar from long range.

Speaking after the game, Rwanda Head Coach was pleased with the discipline displayed by his players though he was disappointed for not taking the three points: “We did better today, we created many chances for goal but I don’t like the fact that we did not take advantage of our dominance. We had a very tough opponent in front of us whom we did not give any chance for goal. A lot to be grateful for but I am disappointed we did not bag the three points today.’’

Fitina Omborenga was voted Man of the Match following a strong display against Uganda.

Rwanda will play the second game in the the Total African Nations Championship against Morocco on Friday, January 22 at Stade de la Réunification-Bepanda in Douala.
