22 FLAMES, ONE DREAM, ROAD TO THE WORLD CUP

On this 14th of September 2024, the sun rose upon a new chapter for the National Women’s U20, as 22 chosen players gathered under the guidance of Coach Cassa MBUNGO André, with a clear and noble mission, to prepare for the great duel against Nigeria, a battle that will shape their path to the 2026 World Cup.

The calendar already marked, 21st September 2026, the first leg, at home, beneath the roar of Kigali Pele Stadium, at 3:00 PM and on 27th September 2026, the return leg, in the heart of Nigeria.

Coach Cassa’s words carried the weight of destiny, “From today, every thought, every conversation, must breathe this coming match. On the pitch, I will ask you to focus. Cast out fear. Follow the plan, obey the tactics, and let your courage lead you.”

This is no beginning from nothing. In August, during their holidays, the girls had already embraced the fire of training. Those early sessions forged their bodies and their spirits, leaving them sharpened for the trials ahead.

Now, as they step into camp, one can see it in their eyes, Determination glowing, Readiness humming, and unshakable unity.

The road will be tough, the opponent mighty, the future unpredictable, but from the discipline of training to the faith of their hearts, the girls march together, ready to write history once more for their nation.
