FERWAFA President leads Rwanda delegation to FIFA Congress in Canada

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) leadership will be among the 211 FIFA Member Associations taking part in the 76th FIFA Congress set for Vancouver, Canada, on April 30, 2026.

The FERWAFA delegation is led by President Mr. Fabrice Ngoga Shema who is accompanied by first Vice President Mrs. Claudine Gasarabwe and General Secretary Mr. Bonnie Mugabe.

Major decisions about the future of the sport are expected to be made, ranging from budgetary considerations to deciding on the hosts of future tournaments. It’s expected that the Vancouver meetings will result in determining the hosts for the 2031 and 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cups.

With less than 50 days to go before the FIFA World Cup kicks off in North America, things are beginning to feel real in Vancouver.

The Congress also serves as a platform for networking among Member Associations and establishing bilateral relations.

Held since 1904, this will be only the second time the FIFA Congress will be held in Canada, having previously been held in Montréal in 1976.
