FERWAFA President & GS Attend 2026 FIFA Executive Football Summit in Miami

The President of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) Fabrice N. Shema and General Secretary, Bonnie Mugabe, are in Miami, Florida, attending the 2026 FIFA Executive Football Summit.

The two-day high-level summit which started on June 14 is taking place at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach in Miami and brought together the leadership of FIFA and senior football officials from around the world for strategic discussions on the future of global football.

The summit serves as a key platform for dialogue among FIFA officials, representatives from the six continental confederations, and member association leaders.

The gathering focuses on shaping global football policies and fostering collaboration to drive the game’s development at all levels.

Among the central topics of discussion are the FIFA Forward 4.0, the U-15 World Cup/Festival, collaboration between FIFA + and DAZN and how member associations are set to benefit from this partnership aimed at building football’s digital future.

Delegates are also engaging in in-depth discussions on youth football development initiatives for both boys and girls, and major infrastructure projects such as the FIFA Arena initiative, which aims to construct at least 1,000 mini-pitches in communities around the world.

The summit will also feature interactive sessions, where Presidents and General Secretaries of Football Associations will have the opportunity to provide feedback, share best practices, and contribute ideas aimed at advancing the global football ecosystem.

The knowledge and networks gained are expected to positively influence Rwanda’s football development strategies, particularly in areas of youth engagement, women’s football, grassroots infrastructure and digitalising/commercialising local competitions.
