The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), through its 2nd Vice President Richard Mugisha, has concluded a two-day Stadium Safety and Security Training which attracted 250 participants at the Kicukiro District Meeting Hall.
Organized in partnership with Kicukiro Reservists Cooperative (INTEGO) and SSPS Ltd, the training aimed to strengthen safety and security standards in football and other sporting events in Rwanda.
Participants received training in key areas of stadium safety and security, including stewarding, crowd and event management, accreditation zones, access control, and the protection of players, officials, guests, and VVIPs.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Richard Mugisha commended the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained during the training, emphasizing the growing need for qualified security personnel as Rwanda continues to host major sporting events.
“Rwanda continues to host major sporting events and football competitions, which increases the need for qualified and professional security personnel. The knowledge shared during these two days should contribute to improving safety standards and enhancing the experience of everyone attending sporting events,” he said.
The training forms part of FERWAFA’s continued efforts, alongside its partners, to build professional safety and security capacity and ensure safe and secure delivery of football events held in the country.
