The Director General of Sports Development at the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Gilbert Muvunyi Manie, has today 28th August 2026, paid a visit to the CAF A Licence candidates during their final practical session on Friday, as the participants concluded Module 6 ahead of the upcoming assessments.

The visit took place during the final on-field practical session of the CAF A Licence workshop, which has been running from 24 to 28 August 2026, bringing together coaches pursuing one of the highest coaching qualifications in African football.

During his interaction with the candidates, Mr. Muvunyi Manie commended the coaches for their commitment to continuous professional development and encouraged them to use the knowledge and competencies acquired throughout the course to contribute to the growth of football in Rwanda.

The final module focused on key areas of communication in modern football, football skills and tactical aspects, combining theoretical learning with practical application on the field.

The completion of Module 6 marks an important stage in the programme, with candidates now preparing for their final evaluations.

The CAF A Licence course is particularly significant for Rwanda, as it represents the first CAF A Licence coaching course conducted in the country in 10 years. Its return reflects the continued commitment of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), in collaboration with CAF and national sports authorities, to strengthening coaching education and developing a highly qualified pool of coaches.

As the candidates head into the evaluation phase, the successful completion of the course is expected to contribute further to the development of coaching standards and the wider football ecosystem in Rwanda.
