During his previous visit to Rusizi District, on 17th of February 2024, the FERWAFA President met with the Local leadership of Rusizi represented by the Mayor Mr. KIBIRIGA Anicet and the Vice Mayor in Charge of Economic Affairs Mr. NDAGIJIMANA Louis MUNYEMANZI, also the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Teams located in Rusizi and Nyamasheke Districts to discuss the Football development in that area by also laying strategies to improve performance of the teams from the said area.

Also the meeting was attended by the members of the FERWAFA EXCOM, who also expressed their joy to meet the leaders of the Football teams in Rusizi.

In his welcome remarks, the Mayor of the District expressed his gratitude for FERWAFA EXCOM that thought to attend the match of the launching of the 3rd Division at such a distant place, he pledged joint efforts to raise the talents from that side promising to have very big and competitive teams from that side fighting for the titles.

FERWAFA President Mr. Alphonse MUNYANTWALI in his remarks hailed the present teams leaders for their selfless exertions, also stressed that there must be a common mobilization to parents to invest in the talents of their children, “it is always good for a parent to invest 50-50 in both formal Education and Children talents”, he gave out the example of the children enrolled in National technical Center in collaboration with Bayern Munchen, whose parents have started harvesting in the talent of their kids.

The Meeting ended with the mutual consent to strive to convince more partners to invest in football especially in talent growth for the future of the game, and also Leaders pledged to approach local investors and remind them about corporate social responsibilities.
