The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has awarded TonyRW FC a 3–0 forfeit victory over Kamonyi FC following a breach of competition regulations during the opening matchday of the 2026–2027 Rwanda Second Division Men’s League, played on 25 October 2026.
FERWAFA reviewed a complaint lodged by TonyRW FC following the match, alleging that Kamonyi FC had listed more foreign players than permitted under the competition regulations.
The review established that Kamonyi FC had included five foreign players on the official match sheet (feuille de match).
Article 10.1 of the FERWAFA Regulations Governing the 2026–2027 Second Division Men’s League allows each club to register five foreign players available during the season but permits only three to be listed on the match sheet.
As Kamonyi FC breached this provision, FERWAFA awarded TonyRW FC a 3–0 win by forfeit, giving the club three points and three goals.
FERWAFA reiterates its commitment to enforcing competition regulations and urges all participating clubs to familiarise themselves with and comply with the rules governing their respective competitions.
