The closing ceremony was attended by Amavubi Senior National Team Head Coach, Mr Stephen Constantine, who joined the Acting President in highlighting the importance of integrating sports science and modern technology into football development.
In her remarks, Me Gasarabwe emphasised the need to equip football practitioners with modern tools and knowledge to improve player development and performance. She urged participants to apply the skills acquired and reaffirmed FERWAFA’s commitment to organising similar workshops regularly.
Coach Constantine highlighted the role of GPS technology in monitoring players’ physical demands, assessing training loads, managing recovery and supporting informed technical decisions.
Both leaders pledged continued support for regular capacity-building initiatives, recognising the importance of sustained knowledge development and technology in raising the standards of Rwandan football.
Facilitated by Claudio Altieri, Amavubi Senior National Team Performance Specialist, the workshop combined theoretical and practical sessions, giving participants hands-on experience in setting up GPS devices, collecting performance data and analysing key performance indicators.
Held on 29–30 October under the theme “From Data to Performance: Understanding, Monitoring & Optimising Player Performance,” the workshop brought together approximately 70 coaches, fitness coaches and medical practitioners.
