“IF WE REALLY NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE NEXT AFCON, WE NEED TO CONSIDER THE HIGHEST PERFORMANCE AGAINST BENIN”

Rwanda National team has been showing a decent performance in the last two games played for the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers to be hosted by Morocco, where in the first match Amavubi equalized with Libyan National Team 1-1 in Tripoli, then a goalless draw in Rwanda against Nigeria during the FIFA window of 02nd to 10th September 2024.

As Amavubi prepares for the third and Fourth match of the qualifications against Benin, to be played home and away in the upcoming FIFA window between 07th and 15th of October 2024, where the Head Coach Mr. Torsten Frank Spittler believes that these upcoming matches will decide and secure the place of Amavubi in the upcoming 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

“For sure, although some people say that Rwanda needs at least four points on Benin to stand safely with confidence, but I believe my intention is not to get only 4 points but to perform towards the best result we can, and my team has proven that it is possible to have it, therefore I believe that our great performance to outshine Benin in these upcoming matches will have an impact and we really seem to be ready for these games.” Coach Frank said.

Rwanda stands on the third position in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers in Group D where Nigeria comes first with 4 points, then Benin 3, Rwanda with 2 points and Libya comes last with only 1 point. Amavubi are set to commence the camp preparing for those Benin games in end September and coach believes that some faces may change and bring in more of new ones if he happens to see better options.
