LIGHTING THE PATH FORWARD: FIFA AND FERWAFA TOGETHER IN PURPOSE

For two inspiring days, 28th and 29th October 2025, the halls of Serena Hotel Kigali echoed with one unifying call: to lead Rwandan football with transparency, purpose, and vision.

The FIFA–FERWAFA Induction Program, a profound meeting of minds and hearts, brought together the FERWAFA Executive Committee and the FIFA Regional Office Rwanda, represented by Mr. Davis NDAYISENGA, FIFA Regional Coordinator, and Mr. Sixbert HABIMANA his co-worker.

Amid the discussions, wisdom flowed on football governance, project implementation, and the art of leading with integrity. Topics spanned from the structure of world football, the FIFA project cycle, to the pulse of grassroots and youth development, women’s football, and the exciting competitions pipeline shaping Rwanda’s next footballing chapter.

A highlight of the induction came through Ms. Emilie Doms, Manager of Member Associations Governance Services at FIFA, who passionately reminded the participants that:

“Good governance is not an act, it’s a culture. It thrives in transparency, in planning, in disciplined follow-up, and in the courage to execute.”

Her words resonated deeply reminding everyone that sustainable football success is born not only on the pitch, but in the integrity of leadership off it.

As the program drew to a close, the FERWAFA Executive Committee and FIFA Representatives together defined a collaboration roadmap, one rooted in mutual trust and a shared dream, to advance the growth of Rwandan football, one deliberate step at a time.

In his heartfelt reflection, FERWAFA President Mr. SHEMA NGOGA Fabrice expressed gratitude and vision:

“This induction was not just a meeting; it was a mirror. A reminder of why we serve, and how we must serve. We go back to our desks with renewed clarity to lead with accountability, to execute with precision, and to grow with purpose.”

He added:

“Our takeaway is simple, discipline in execution and unity in purpose. The future of Rwandan football will not be built by chance, but by choice, consistency, and collaboration.”

The two-day encounter thus ended not with a farewell, but with a pledge to nurture football development in Rwanda, anchored on governance, inclusion, and passion for the beautiful game.

“We now walk the talk,” concluded President SHEMA NGOGA.“Because every strong football nation begins with leaders who dream, plan, and act together.”
