RWANDA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP (D2) KICKS OFF JAN 10

The Rwanda Women’s Championship (D2) is due to start on Saturday, January 10, 2026, across the country. 

The newly branded women’s second division league will now be known as the Rwanda Women’s Championship. 

Following today’s draw, the championship will attract 14 clubs, divided in two groups. 


Group A is composed of Center for Champions WFC, Gakenke Ladies WFC, Burera WFC, Just Sports WFC, Nyaruguru WFC, ES Mutunda and Kayonza WFC

Group B is made up of Greenland WFC, Runda Vision WFC, Impeesa WFC, Rambura WFC, Ndabuc WFC, UR WFC and Brightrays WFC.

The two teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs which will see all the four teams play against each other, with the two overall winners earning promotion to the Rwanda Women’s Super league. 

The bottom-placed teams will be demoted to the Rwanda Women’s Regional League (Division three).
