FS26: Aruba and Liechtenstein Advance to Group B Final

Liechtenstein and Aruba reached the final of Group B of the inaugural FIFA Series Tournament after overcoming Tanzania and Macau at Kigali Pele Stadium on Thursday, March 26, 2026. 

Thousands of fans created an electric atmosphere, turning up in large numbers to witness history as teams from different continents converged in Kigali. The remarkable turnout reflected Rwanda’s growing reputation as a welcoming destination for global sporting events.

In the first match of the day, Aruba secured an emphatic 4–1 victory over Macau, while Liechtenstein edged Tanzania 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter.

The opening ceremony delivered a strong cultural statement, led by the iconic traditional dance troupe Urukerereza, whose performance blended rhythm, heritage, and national pride, captivating everyone in attendance.

The event also drew praise from Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, who in a recent Instagram post expressed pride in Rwanda’s preparations and organization.

“I am delighted to see the Amahoro Stadium and Kigali Pelé Stadium in Rwanda ready to host important games of the 2026 FIFA Series men’s edition, uniting national football teams from around the world in meaningful competition,” he said.

Action continues Friday as Kenya tackles Estonia while Rwanda will be up against Grenada in Group A at Amahoro Stadium. 

The FIFA Series brings together eight nations, Rwanda, Grenada, Kenya, Estonia, Aruba, Liechtenstein, Macau, and Tanzania, split into two groups, with matches played in a knockout-style format.
